Adventure Day Trips from the South Shore

SkyVenture, Nashua, NH

Indoor skydiving is harder than it looks and way more fun. The kids loved everything about it. The instructors are hands-on and make it feel safe and structured, even if you’re nervous the first time you step into the wind tunnel. And it’s not just skydiving. They also have indoor surfing (FlowRider), which adds a completely different challenge. Watching the kids try to balance, wipe out, and then get back up again was half the fun.

Water Park of New England (Danvers, MA)

Another easy day trip from the South Shore is the Water Park of New England in Danvers. It’s attached to the DoubleTree hotel and perfect for those winter weekends when everyone needs to burn off energy, but the weather isn’t cooperating. It’s not massive like some big destination waterparks, but it was the perfect day trip when the kids were little. Slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. We did it as a true day trip, booking a day pass and avoiding an overnight stay.

If you have younger kids, Davis Farmland in Sterling is one of our longtime favorites. It’s more than just a petting zoo; it’s a full day. I always had to drag my kids out of there.
